I recently went back to Singapore in October after 6 years (My 2019 Singapore - Malaysia Trip). My oh my, it was cheaper in Singapore back then. You may notice some similar photos from my 2019 trip to my 2025 trip, because I tried to recreate those for a side by side comparison of how much I've changed over the years, but totally forgotten to retake some of the photos. But anyways, this time I'll be sharing a separate experience about Universal Studios Singapore.
If there’s one place in Singapore that guarantees a full day of thrills, laughter, and pure cinematic magic, it’s Universal Studios Singapore (USS). Located on Sentosa Island, this world-famous theme park is every movie lover’s dream. The moment you walk through the iconic rotating globe, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into a blockbuster set.
Of course, your USS visit will not be complete without a photo in front of the iconic globe. We went there early before the opening time just so we can catch the globe without a lot of people (that's what we did in 2019!). But to our surprise, there were already a lot of people at 10am, on a Monday (Oct 21)!! We still took photos in front of the globe but this specific photo below was taken when we went out of the theme park in the afternoon. Lesser people around.
How to go to Universal Studios Singapore
By MRT (Most Convenient + Budget-Friendly)
- Take the North-East Line (Purple Line) or Circle Line (Orange Line) to HarbourFront Station (NE1/CC29).
- From there, head to VivoCity Mall (connected to the station).
- Go up to Level 3 of VivoCity and board the Sentosa Express Monorail.
- Alight at Waterfront Station — Universal Studios Singapore is just a 5-minute walk away
Cost: Around SGD 4 total (MRT + Sentosa Express)
By Bus
There are several buses that go directly to Resorts World Sentosa, where USS is located:
From VivoCity or HarbourFront MRT:
- Take RWS8 Shuttle Bus from Bus Stop 14141 (outside VivoCity).
- Runs every 5–10 minutes.
- Fare: SGD 1 per ride.
From Other Parts of Singapore:
- Take Bus 123, which stops directly at Resorts World Sentosa.
- This is a great direct option if you’re coming from Orchard Road, Tiong Bahru, or Bukit Merah.
By Taxi or Grab (Fastest Option)
If you prefer comfort or are traveling with a group:
Simply book a Grab or taxi directly to Resorts World Sentosa, 8 Sentosa Gateway.
The drop-off point is right at the casino entrance — a short walk to USS.
Estimated cost:
- From Orchard or Marina Bay: SGD 10–15
- From Changi Airport: SGD 25–35
We first took photos in Hollywood Boulevard and New York but went straight to the Sci-Fi city to ride Transformers: The Ride – The Ultimate 3D Battle. It's one of my favorite rides where you feel like you are a real autobot. Transformers is one of the park's most popular attraction. You will also get to see either Bumble Bee, Megatron, or Optimus Prime and take a photo with them. But one thing that I hate about theme parks is the long waiting time. Took us almost 1 hour to be able to experience a 5-minute ride. Since this ride is 3D, we got our 3D glasses inside. The ride was super fun, I'd line up again to ride it.
Here are some photos of us while waiting in line
After the Transformers, we walked and strolled in the park to take some photos. My friend's brother went to ride the outdoor roller coaster but I had to pass on this, I think it's going to make me sick. We did a bit of photoshoot in nearby areas like the Far Far Away castle. I love the aesthetic view of the castle here where it feels as if we are in Disneyland.

When I went to USS in 2019, I wasn't able to ride in The Revenge of the Mummy. The waiting time in this ride is crazy 1.5 hours! There's such a long line inside for a short ride. It's an indoor roller coaster that has several drops and backward ways so you'll go crazy trying to catch up where you are going to drop. I held very tightly onto the railings as if it will save me if the roller coaster crashed into pieces. I can compare the Revenge of the Mummy to Hyperspace Mountain in Hong Kong Disneyland
The newest park in Universal Studios Singapore is the Minion Land. We went here last before going out the park. They have such cute vibe and you're going to feel like you are straight out of the Despicable Me or Minions movie. I bought these minion goodies and my oh my they are expensive! Stuart mango ice cream is worth $12, and the banana popcorn (yes! there is a banana popcorn flavor!) is $10. Didn't know banana can be a popcorn flavor. It's kinda weird but it does taste good though.

So if you ever find yourself in Singapore, don’t just visit Universal Studios — live it. It's a fun park, but ride lines are way too long so I went out and went straight to Harry Potter: Visions of Magic
