52-week Money Challenge

What's your plan for the incoming year? Well, if you have or you don’t have any goals set yet, I want to share with you a simple money secret that will surely help you manage your finances. Holidays passed and there have been a lot of gift-giving and holiday expenses we spent. Imagine working hard for you to earn the money and then you’re going to spend it one time big time. That sounds…. not so good! We all work for money to earn and save them for future use, that’s why this money challenge is one of the best ways to finally have extra savings.

Here's the sample table of the denominations:

There are lots of ways where you can do this 52-week challenge, in different denominations, depending on how much you want to save at the end of the year. You can start with 10,20,30,40,50, or even 100, then adding the same increment on the next week. While 100 pesos denomination is very hard to achieve by end of year, for this year, I will be doing the 50 pesos denomination. Last year, I completed the 30 pesos until the first half of the year, but then I wasn’t able to complete. Haha. Roughly, I still earned like Php20,000+. Imagine how hard it is to save when all those luxury items are around! But then, while doing this 52-week challenge, discipline is the best trait that you should have.

Since it’s not easy to cash out a certain amount per week, I will be trying a technique, which I hope will work.

I included the original table on the first photo above and above this  is how I will be doing the challenge. As you can see on the first table, you will start with a very small amount and then end up with a large amount on the last week. However, it will not be easy especially for us employees whose payday only falls every two weeks. So I discovered a simple technique wherein I will be able to complete the challenge much easier (I think?). I added the largest amount to the smallest amount. I noticed that if I do that, I will be deducting Php2,650 to my pay every cut off, since at the end of the year, I will still be getting the same amount I wanted which is Php68,900.

Still, it will depend on you on how you want to do the challenge. You can start from 2,600 down to 50 so it will not be hard for you to keep your contribution by end of year. Anyways, I still wish you good luck if you’re going to do this challenge on whatever denomination you choose, whether it’s 10,20,30,40,50 or 100! The goal is to save for your future! :)

Let me know if you had the chance to complete the challenge be end of year! xoxo
