"Crazy Beautiful You" - A Story of First Times and Second Chances

Hey guys! Let me just start this blog post with a mixed emotion. After the trend of That Thing Called "Tadhana" all over social media, it's time for another Star Cinema movie to be finally unraveled as they produce Crazy Beautiful You starring this generation's royal love team, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, showing Feb 25 nationwide.

So I was invited by Chic Centre to be a part of their block screening, and who wouldn't say no? It's KathNiel! They manage to give mixed feelings of all ages. And I am proud with the success of this love team that even though I'm not a total fangirl, I'm starting to be confused if I'm going to be a fangirl or not. But kidding aside, I like their on and off-screen chemistry, reason why I immediately said yes when I was invited.

Anyway, Crazy Beautiful You, directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, for me, is a story of first times and second chances. I'm not going to spoil the story so you would watch the movie, probably after reading this blog.

SYNOPSIS

Kathryn plays Jackie, a rich and rebellious girl from Manila who lives her life thinking she's a grown up and can already handle herself without her mother (Lorna Tolentino), while Daniel plays the role of Kiko, a family breadwinner to three younger siblings and one irresponsible single mom (Assunta de Rossi). They met when Jackie's mom brought her along for a medical mission in an Aeta village and Kiko was tasked to let Jackie realize that there's more to life than what she think she is, but as he tries to help her rediscover her broken self, Jackie tries her best to escape from him to get back to the city.

In this movie, Kathryn and Daniel displayed matured acting as they go a long way from their past projects. As they have already teamed up with five movies (24/7 In Love, Must be Love, Sisterakas, Pagpag, and She's Dating the Gangster), their tandem in Crazy Beautiful You showcased that their acting has really grown and matured.

As I watch the movie, I noticed that there is real connection between them. Both have improved when it comes to acting and delivering their lines, and their physical contacts gives viewers real chills and kilig vibes. I honestly find myself screaming and laughing and crying during the movie because their portrayal is exceptional. I felt like I went back to my post teenage years and that I remembered what it feels like to be in love again. Haha. But kidding aside, the movie isn't a teeny-bopper one, which I like since I can almost relate. The depth of the story is normal, not to deep, not to shallow, but it mainly focuses on both character's view of broken families, and what does it really have to do with the pain of loving and understanding why it hurts.

All characters signifies first times and second chances--their first time to do things, and second chances that are worth experiencing again. The story also depicts that there is love and forgiveness that should be within a family. Although the story revolves around their painful stories about each of their families, Kiko and Jackie seem to develop their tandem while they were trying to find out their real feelings for each other.

KathNiel's biggest break for the year is really a must watch movie.

I'm not going to narrate everything, although I really want to (Haha), because you should watch the movie! It's worth the money, I swear. I end up wanting to watch the movie again. You'll know why, when the movie ends! *wink* Congratulations Madame Baby and Baby Boy! You deserve more projects together.

Kudos to Chic Centre for holding a successful block screening.

  3. Ngayon ko lang napanuod yung Crazy Beautiful You.
So far eh di talaga ako nadisappoint sa movie.
Sa lahat ng original story na pinagganapan ng KathNiel eh ito ang pinakagusto ko. Not that I'm a KathNiel fan but the chemistry is really...WOW. As in! And rin siya purong kilig. Naalala ko pa kanina na napaiyak ako sa eksena ni Lorna Tolentino and Kathryn, then yung kay Daniel and Asunta. Sobrang galing! Sobrang nagmature na sila. Di ko na makitaan ng tweetums chuchuness yung acting nila!
Sobrang worth it panuorin. Pampamilya and sobrang pakilig rin.
Haha.
A must-watch movie guys. Kahit late na ako nanuod eh talagang andun pa rin yung
